He graduated from Clifton Fine High School in Star Lake, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy until 1978. He went to Canton ATC where he earned an Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology. He retired from Alcan Rolled Products where he was an industrial mechanic and a volunteer firefighter. He was an avid sportsman. He was very talented and built his family estate and kept himself busy in his beloved garage. Many summers were spent camping
He is predeceased by his father, Charles Frances Lynch and his younger brother Frances Reid Lynch. Celebrating his life are his wife of 38 years, Dolores (Lorie) Lynch, his mother, Mary Hinkleman Lynch, his daughters Heather Demuth (Jon) of Ashburn, VA, Tiffany Carpenter (Chris) of Brewerton, NY, his two sons Aaron (Brie) of Springfield, GA, and Kelly (Lindsey) of Mexico, NY, his seven grandchildren and his golden doodle Baku.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY and a funeral will follow at the Mexico Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted for the Stephen B Lynch Scholarship c/o MACS Dollars for Scholars PO Box 971 Mexico, NY 13114 and in memory of him to the Mexico Food Pantry.
