Robert E. Washer (March 6th, 2017)
Robert E. Washer, 91 of Mexico died Monday, at the Oswego Hospital. He was born in Pennellville, son of the late Clinton and Gladys Anthony Washer. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving as a B-29 Navigator in WWII. He was a member of the Phoenix American Legion Post #418. Bob was an Industrial Arts Teacher at Mexico Academy and Central Schools, retiring in 1981. He previously taught at Brant Lake and Oriskany Falls. He was also a Construction Electrician and taught the IBEW Apprenticeship Course. Bob was a former member of the Mexico United Methodist Church and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mexico.

Bob is survived by his wife of 70 years, the former Greta Dexter Washer; his four sons, Robert Washer Jr. of Mexico, Walter (Patricia) Washer of Dannsville, Dexter (Janene) Washer of Mexico and John (Karen) Washer of Mexico; his three daughters, Cheryl Washer of Mexico, Annette (Bruce) Richardson of NC and Eloise Washer of Mexico; along with 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and his sister, Mary Gray of FL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, from the First Baptist Church of Mexico. Spring burial with full Military Honors will take place in the Mexico Village Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Phoenix American Legion Post #418 or the First Baptist Church of Mexico.
