Kathlene Glath (January 30th, 2017)
Kathleen was born on Nov.5,1916 in Parish, N.Y. She graduated from H.S. and C.C.B.I. Business School. Her first job was as a teller in Parish at $10/wk.. She met her husband, Albert Glath, on a blind date and subsequently married him on Oct. 5. 1942. As he was in U.S. Army Air Corps, she traveled to postings with him, including Texas and Nebraska before he was sent overseas to China & Burma. When he returned from WWII, they resided with her father in Parish.

Her first daughter, Patricia, died at birth in May, 1944. Her daughter, Barbara, was born in 1945 and son, Gary, in1949. After the death of her father, her family moved to No. Syracuse in 1954.

Kathleen returned to work, first as a cashier at Chappell's Dept. Store in Northern Lights and then First Trust Bank on Bear Rd., as a teller. When her husband retired from Carrier Corp., they moved to Colony Cove, Ellenton, Florida where they lived for 16 years. They then returned to reside in Syracuse, NY.

Kathleen was a very active and industrious woman. She had a spirit of adventure, and taught her children to be independent, honest and responsible. She was accepting of others not like herself. She made it to 100 years of age and will be missed.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, brother, Harold Nellis and sister, Marguerite Bishop. She leaves daughter, Barbara, and son, Gary(Betsy). She also leaves grandchildren, Corey & Kelly Glath, & Jamie(Eric) Willman, neice, Jean Spencer, Nephew, Jan(Anne) Bishop and cousins, Mary Mahar and Virginia Kocienski.

A memorial service and burial is planned for May 4, 2017, when the weather is more forgiving in Parish. Arrangements are in care of the Harter Funeral Home, 2983 W. Main Street Parish, NY.
