Fred C. Kiesinger (May 25th, 2017)
Fred C. Kiesinger, 75, of Mexico, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Fred was born on February 24, 1942 and grew up in the Mexico area. He graduated from Mexico High School, where he was an outstanding athlete, lettering in three sports. No stranger to hard work, he simultaneously worked on the family farm and two neighborhood farms. This while participating in school, athletics and working on several Oswego County "mucks" during his summers. His first job after school was at a foundry. Within a couple years, Fred moved into a job as a Purchasing Agent at Crouse Hinds Co. Thus began a steady climb to top management positions for many of Central New York's longstanding companies, including, Edward Joy, Marsellus Casket Co., Will & Baumer and Em Kay Candles. Fred's success in business came from being a skilled problem solver. Fred always outworked everyone around him from his earliest job to his last day before retirement. He was the first to arrive at the office and the last to leave. Family and friends will remember him for his greatest successes, which were being a good husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a good man.
He was pre-deceased by his son, Gregory B. Kiesinger, who died on August 1, 2013, a sister, Helen (Kiesinger) O'Neil, brother-in-law Joseph O'Neil and his parents Frank and Florence Kiesinger.
Fred is survived by, his wife of 54 years, Connie; his daughter, Heather Buckley of Mexico; his two grandsons Joshua and Justin Buckley; his brother, Robert (Jeannie) Kiesinger of Lycoming; and his sister, Pearl (Bob) Clark of Mexico.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mexico First United Methodist Church.
