Eugene R. Mizener (December 16th, 2016)
Eugene R. Mizener, born August 8, 1926 in Sandy Creek to George and Austie Mizener, passed peacefully December 16 of natural causes.

He is predeceased by his wife Diana Clohosey Mizener and brothers Laverne and Keith.

He is survived by a sister Shirley Lortie of Lacona as well as his children; Donna Mizener of Detroit, Dolores (Greg) Storie of Manlius, Douglas (Jen) of Fulton, and Daniel of Mexico. He had 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Gene graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1944 where he was a member of the basketball, baseball, and soccer teams. He was a corporal in the US Army serving in France and Belgium during WW II. He worked at Nestles for 35 years, retiring in 1988 as foreman in the refinery. Gene was a Yankees fan and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, from the Harter Funeral Home, 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico NY. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in the Mexico Village Cemetery.
