Doris E. (Rice) Potter (September 12th, 2017)
Doris E. (Rice) Potter, 90, of Mexico, died at her home. She was born in Mexico, the daughter of the late John and Sadie Hutchinson Rice. She was a member of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church; the Friendship Care and Share Shop of Sandy Creek; the Sandy Creek Outlook Club, and the longtime Leader of the Jr Miss 4-H Club. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Howard, in 1999 after 50 years of marriage. Doris and Howard ran a successful dairy farm in east Mexico. Her sideline was making cakes for weddings and many other events.
Doris is survived by, her son, Dr. Douglas H. Potter (Gregory Partridge), of Rochester; her two daughters, Kathleen L. (John) Jamerson, of Mexico and Julie I. Potter, of Mexico; her four
grandsons, Shawn and Joshua Edwards; Chad and Brent Jamerson, her sister-in-law, Clellia Spicer; along with her 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 from the Harter Funeral Home, 2983 W. Main Street, Parish, NY. Burial will be in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris’ name to the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church or the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department.
